Topsy and Tim have a Barbecue

Topsy and Tim invited all their schoolfriends to a barbecue in their garden. They bought crisps, fizzy drinks, sausages but the shop didn't have any turnips.

Dad moved the pets into the shed where it was quiet and they got the barbecue out and Tim decided he wanted to put up Christmas lights in the garden. However they didn't work outside.

Soon all of their friends arrived and the food was cooking, but Tim was still sad that they didn't have lights. Dad put the lights in the greenhouse and they were pretty but they went out.

Then Audrey the farm girl came down with a load of turnips which mum hollowed out and put faces on. With a candle in each they lit up the garden and each child took one home.
