Using eBay

As a prolific eBay seller I know a lot about eBay and how to look out for any suspicious looking buyers or sellers. Many new visitors to eBay may wonder why so many peole use it and why they send their money off to complete strangers in hope that they might receive some goods in exchange.

Ebay has always been based around trust between small sellers and buyers. However, since it has grown there has been a need to improve the security for boh buyers and sellers. The main way that eBay achieves this is to use a feedback system. Everytime a buyer purchases something they are encouraged to leave a comment and a feedback rating (positive, neutral or negative) for that seller and the seller will do the same for the buyer. This is a great initial way to check if the seller is trustworthy and provides a good service. Of course there are some flaws in this system. However good a seller is, items can still go missing or get damaged in the post for example. If you are worried about this you can always email the seller to find out what their policy is should this occur.
