Website Review : iContact Community

iContact Community is a website which has articles on many subjects including arts, hobbies, health, government, business and automotive. The site has over 125,000 members and almost twice as many articles so it is full of information. If you become a member of the site you can vote on the articles and comment on them as well as post on the forum. I decided to search on the site for make money online to find out whether I coudl pick up any tips. There were quite a few articles which seemed like get rich quick schemes and so I didn't look at them. I found an article about how to get a free ebook about making money. It had a small description of the book and a URL where you could find more details.

As a small company, I have wondered in the past about getting some promotional products. It is important to get your brand recognised and this can be a way of doing it. I have considered getting t-shirts printed when I have attended relevant trade shows and events or getting pens or Christmas Cards done to send to customers. What I actually do is give away a promotional bookmark with every book that I sell as it is useful, relevant and a good reminder for customers of where to come back to if they want any other books. I have found that my Christmas sales have already happened although I tend to get a small rush at the beginning of December most sales happen in November. i am surprised that they were calling so late in the year.

Books for Christmas

My sister has asked me to buy a stack of classic children's books for my neice and she has specified that they be second hand. She says that her local library do not stock titles such as Mrs Pepperpot, Wishing Chair and Pippi Longstocking and she woudl love her aughter to read these books. I also find that during school holidays sales are much lower especially in the summer months when people tend to go away for holidays.

I feel that things are getting a bit stale in the second hand book market at the moment. I have been buying and selling books for 5 years now and I have dabbled in new books too and have found a sucessful niche market there. Howeve, I am finding that since selling online is getting more and more popular the prices seem to be plummeting. I am not sure whether this trend is likely to continue or whether it will eventually start to pick up again. I have a feeling that it will continue, which is why I am working on other projects to earn money as well.

A New Month

I am looking forward to this month so much. Not only are our sales increasing due to the start of the holiday season, I have found some other great projects are now bringing me in significant earnings.
